Well this is awkward

October 5, 2020

Ever have an event that you have a guest list of must invite because they are relatives, friends of so and so etc. and due to budget or venue size you must restrict your guest list to a specific number of people?  Sure you have, so what happens when you receive the RSVP’s and surprise! Some people send their apologies due to other obligations.  Now how do you invite your A list buddies without anyone being offended?

The answer is order two sets of RSVP cards with your printed invitations or created two email responses.  Make sure the first set is sent out 3 months before the event with the RSVP at least 6 weeks before the date of the event.  This way you will have time to mail or email the invitations to your other valued guests/clients without you or them feeling awkward when sending and receiving an invitation.

You may want to consider adding a line for a phone number as if it is close to the event you may wish to reach out to them to help with airport, hotel and other event details.  (T-shirt sizes perhaps)

It is always wise to have a plan B and this is just one of many ways you can ensure a full event with everyone there happy they were invited to attend.

Plan B: Order two sets of RSVP cards with your printed invitations or create two email responses.
